Thrill of Morocco - 13 Days - 12 Nights - From Casablanca

Day 1: Arrival to Casablanca – Transfer to the hotel

Arrival to Mohammed V airport of Casablanca where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Our driver will provide a brief overview of your tour. Overnight with dinner at the hotel

Day 2: Casablanca – Marrakech

Breakfast at the hotel. You will explore the city of Casablanca including: the famous mosque of Hassan II, The square of Mohamed V and also the Habous district. You will stroll along the beautiful corniche with an optional to stop for a drink or light lunch. Afterwards drive towards the imperial city of Marrakech for the overnight with dinner at the hotel.

Day 3: Full Day to Visit Marrakech

Today you will have a full-day guided tour of Marrakech. The sightseeing tour will cover several impressive sights: The Koutoubia mosque, Majorelle Gardens, Bahia Palace and Dar Si Said Palace Museum. Optional lunch will be in the medina followed by a walk through the colorful souks of Marrakech. Enjoy a sunset drink overlooking the exciting Jamaa El Fna Square from a terrace of a cafe, dinner and night at hotel.

Day 4: Marrakech at leisure

Today will be at leisure to choose what to do. The options can be a day trip to the Atlas Mountains or the coastal city of Essaouira. The other option could be relaxing and exploring the city of Marrakech more with some activities such as a cooking class or a relaxing Hammam and Spa. Overnight with dinner at the hotel or in a typical Moroccan Restaurant.

Day 5: Marrakech - Atlas Mountains - Ait benhdaou - Ouarzazate

Today we travel across the plains of the great High Atlas Mountains. Climbing over the pass of Tizi n Tichka, we stop for lunch and then continue onwards with great views over the Mountains and valleys to Ait Benhaddou. This incredible fortified Kasbah was built for defense purposes high on a hill and is a stunningly well preserved medieval city which has famously featured in many blockbuster movies, including Gladiator and Laurence of Arabia as its beauty is unequal to any other fortified kasbah in south Morocco. Carrying on we continue south to the Hollywood of North Africa – Ouarzazate which is famous for being the filming location for many other Hollywood blockbusters and famous TV shows including James Bond – The Living Daylights, The Mummy and more recently Game of Thrones. Overnight with dinner at the hotel.

Day 6: Ouarzazate - Dades valley - Todra gorges - Merzouga Desert

Today we begin our journey into the Sahara desert via the palm groves of Skoura, the rose fields and magnificent gorges. Travelling from Ouarzazate, there is a possibility of visiting the kasbah of Amredil in Skoura before seeing the rose fields and reaching scenic Todra Gorges. Surrounded by towering vertical limestone cliffs reaching heights of 1000ft, it is known as Morocco’s Grand Canyon. The charm of Todra lies in its changing colours as the sun slowly moves from east to west. After time to wander through Todra we hit the road again for Merzouga – our base before we head into the Sahara. Depending on the time of year, spend the afternoon relaxing and swimming before climbing aboard our camels for an incredible trek into the Sahara Desert to watch a beautiful sunset and spend the night at our remote Berber Camp, nestled amongst the towering dunes of Erg Chebbi. We enjoy local food and an amazing night camping in the Sahara.

Day 7: Merzouga Desert - Cedar Forest - Ifrane - Fes

Morning wake up to watch the spectacle of sunrise, when the colour of the dunes combine with the play of shadows to make an awesome sight. After breakfast, you will ride the camels back to meet your driver leaving to the medieval city of Fes. It is a long drive today however there is a lot to see on the way. We will pass through cedar forests full of Barbary monkeys on our way through the middle Atlas Mountains. Just before Fes we stop at Ifrane – a beautiful town often likened to a Swiss Alpine resort. Along the way we also start to see our first glimpse of Morocco’s nomadic Berbers – travelling across the Mountains and often staying in make shift tents as they head to their next destination. We arrive into Fes for the overnight with dinner at the hotel.

Day 8: Explore the city of Fes

After breakfast at the Riad or Hotel, you will enjoy a guided tour of the medieval city Fez. This city once was the capital and one of the country's four imperial cities. Fez comprises three distinct parts, Fez el Bali which is the oldest part surrounded by a big wall, where are more than 9000 narrow streets and allies. Fez-Jdid or the new Fes, home of the Mellah the Jewish quarter and the Ville Nouvelle the newest section of Fez created during the French occupation. Fez el Bali is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its medina is the largest in the world. Among its narrow streets and allies, the oldest university in the world is located; The University of Al-Karaouine, founded in AD 859. This University is still operating nowadays. Overnight with breakfast at the hotel.

Day 9: Fes at leisure

Today is at leisure to have more time to explore the medina of Fes or take it easy and relax at the Riad or take a Hammam and Spa. Overnight with dinner at the hotel.

Day 10: Fes - Volubilis - Meknes - Chefchaouen

After your breakfast at the hotel, we will continue your magical journey with a scenic drive towards the North of the country where the blue town of Chefchaouen and the Rif Mountains through Meknes, the fourth of Morocco’s imperial cities and the 17th century heritage where we will stop for lunch and hang around the historical huge walls of the medina. After launch, we take a glimpse to Bab el Mansour and enjoy a visit of Moulay Ismail’s shrine. After lunch, continue the journey through the fertile agricultural hills to the Roman Ruins at Volubilis, an open air museum. Volubilis is not as spectacular as the Roman sites on the Mediterranean rim but it is still a relaxed way of envisaging an important part of Moroccan history. Arrival to the authentic town of Chefchaouen for the overnight with dinner at the hotel.

Day 11: Explore Chefchaouen

After breakfast, you will explore the blue town of Chefchaouen which is a Morocco popular tourist attraction and welcoming town situated in the Rif Mountains just south of the Mediterranean coastline in northwest Morocco. This nice bleu city is known for its traditional buildings. Enjoy a walk to explore the white and blue washed walls of the medina and the markets that offer some unique native handicrafts. Chefchaouen is a fantastic destination for photography with its wonderful views of the Rif Mountains. Overnight with dinner at the hotel.

Day 12: Chefchaouen - Rabat - Casablanca

Today you will depart from the blue town Chefchaouen towards the main capital Rabat. Upon arrival, you will see Hassan Tower as a 12th Century mosque that was collapsed by Lisbon earthquake. You will have the chance to visit the ornamented mausoleum of Mohamed V and Hassan II. The building is considered a masterpiece of modern Alaouite dynasty architecture, with its white silhouette, topped by a typical green tiled roof. You will also reach the old Oudayyas Kasbah at the side of Bou Regreg River. This fortification was built as a military defense in the 12th century by the Almohads dynasty. The guided tour will go behind to early ages by visiting the Roman Chellah ruins as a necropolis at the outskirts of Rabat. Afterwards, take the highway towards Casablanca. Overnight with dinner at the hotel.

Day 13: Casablanca - Back to the Airport

Transfer from to the airport Casablanca for your flight back home.
